Dear Quiet Solution,
As a member of the Lotus Europa group organized through Yahoo, I am one of many restoring these wonderful little cars. With very thin fiberglass bodies and mid-engine design, the radio is typically only useful as an ornament or when the engine is off. Several Europa owners have tried a variety of products to keep the sound from penetrating the Masonite we have for a firewall right behind us.

To actually reduce the sound, several members have tried Dynamat and its competitors.  The mat style insulators are generally too heavy to attach easily to a Masonite firewall.  Fortunately, I decided to try QuietCar. Because of the small size of the little two-seater, a gallon went a very long way. I managed to put several coats on the cockpit side of the firewall and all the surfaces connecting the engine compartment and the wheel wells to the passenger area.  I also got several coats inside the doors. All with a brush.

The service areas originally sounded like drum heads.  If I tapped my fingers on the Masonite, it echoed.  The doors had that nice reverb of a good speaker cabinet.  Now the firewall sounds 2 inches thick.  All of the surfaces with QuietCar sound much thicker and more solid.

I am recommending the product to our entire group and anyone else.

Sincerely,
Brent Powell, Ph.D.
